... I'm leaving today!

So cheesy. Don't care.

I'm writing this while sitting in Costa, in Gatwick's south terminal. It's about half three. Our flight out to New York, the first stop on our round the world trip with no end date, is at 5:10.

Phil and I have been rushing around pretty much all day - posting very early Christmas cards, packing, unpacking, repacking, getting rid of any last minute bits and saying goodbyes. And now it's still and quiet. There's nothing to do but wait.

I don't really know how I'm feeling right now to be honest. There's a kind of fizzing excitement that fills me with butterflies once every five minutes, like my brain keeps remembering what's actually going on. Like I'm a bottle of champagne about to pop. But my head also feels like a bit like a plate of scrambled eggs. I think it still hasn't really sunk in. I'm not sure when it will. When our ears start to pop and we leave the UK behind? When we approach a skyline sprinkled with lights? When we finally drop our heavy backpacks on the floor and go out exploring? I'm not sure.

But I can't wait to document it all here. Everything we do, everywhere we go, everything we're feeling. Watch this space, see you on the other side!

If you never go, you'll never know.
